Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority Emergency Medical Services Division
The service covers a primary response area of 2,700 sq miles from Glendon to Iron River, La Corey to Ardmore and south to Kehewin First Nation, serving a population of over 25,000 with an annual call volume over 2300 calls.
In 2013 dispatching services were transitioned from the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority to Alberta Health Services Central Communications Centre in Edmonton which has resulted in dispatches to areas outside this primary response area including the City of Edmonton, Strathcona County, Smoky Lake County and several other areas between Edmonton and Bonnyville.
The Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA) strives to continue the tradition of providing outstanding community service and strong Emergency Medical Services awareness established by our predecessor, Bonnyville Municipal Ambulance.
As part of this tradition the combined organization is now governed by the Board of Directors of the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority which is made up of elected officials from the Town of Bonnyville and Municipal District of Bonnyville; The management team consisting of the Regional Fire Chief, The Regional Deputy Fire Chief and The Regional Deputy EMS Chief and an ever-growing roster of approximately 35 full-time, part-time and casual staff members, including Emergency Medical Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics.
