Cross Country Skiing Updates
TRAIL CONDITIONS
Mar 14, 2013 - the short loop through the bush, across the lookout road, and through the campground is in good condition, while the long loop to the west and down look out road has some snowmobile damage, but is in fair condition.
Mar 8, 2013 - trails are groomed and set and in great shape for th weekend.
Feb 27, 2013 - short loop through bush and campground has been groomed and track set. Long loop to the West looked undisturbed and was left. Hopefully snowmobiles can find somewhere else to roam.
Feb 26, 2013 - Received news that the trails have been vandalized by snowmobiles so we will be out tomorrow morning to groom and set track so they will be ready for use by the afternoon.
Feb 21, 2013 - trails were packed this afternoon. Grooming and track setting will take place tomorrow morning. If you head out to enjoy the trails keep an eye out for the moose in the campground!
Feb 15. 2013 - trails are groomed and track is set and in excellent condition for what should be a relatively nice Family Day Long Weekend.
Feb 14, 2013 - heading out to pack the trails this afternoon. Grooming and tracking setting will take place tomorrow so they are ready to go for the Family Day Long Weekend.
Feb 7, 2013 - trails are groomed and track is set as of this afternoon and already saw a user out enjoying the them. Trails are in excellent condition.
Feb 5, 2013 - plan for this week is to pack the trails tomorrow and groom and set track on Thursday.
Feb 1, 2013 - trails are in excellent condition again this weekend after being freshly groomed and trackset this afternoon.
Jan 25, 2013 - trails are in excellent condition for the weekend after being freshly groomed and having track set this afternoon.
Jan 24, 2013 - So the 3-5cm they called for in the morning turned into 6 inches of the lovely white stuff on the ground this morning so we head off to pack the trails again this afternoon. Planning to groom and set track tomorrow afternoon.
Jan 23, 2013 - After the last week and a half of cold weather and untimely snow, we are packing trails this afternoon with hopes of little snow tonight so we can groom and set track tomorrow to be ready for what looks like a nice weekend ahead!
Jan 10, 2013 - Packed the trails this afternoon after the inch or two of snow that fell in the last week. Plan to groom and set track tomorrow.
Jan 4, 2013 - Did some touch ups at the entrance to the trail this afternoon and overall it is in great condition for the weekend.
Dec 31, 2012 - trail is great condition today. Groomed and set track on the damaged and highly used sections of trail just in time for New Year's Day, which is shaping up to be a perfect one to spend outdoors.
Dec 20, 2012 - trail is in good condition this morning. The best part of the trail is through the campground where the terrain is relatively flat with a good base. Hoping the snowmobiles and trucks stay off the trails over the Christmas holidays. Will be back to groom and update on December 31.
Dec 19, 2012 - track will be set this morning after 3+ hours of grooming the trails yesterday afternoon.
Dec 18, 2012 - heading out to level out and groom the trails with the snowmobile and renovating leveller. Planning to set track tomorrow morning.
Dec 17, 2012 - will be packing trails this morning. Initial plan is to groom tomorrow and set track Wednesday. Look for update tomorrow.
Nov 16, 2012 - hoping to start grooming trails in December. Will update as soon as grooming commences.

OVERVIEW
The Municipal District of Bonnyville is pleased to offer cross-country ski enthusiasts the ability to enjoy the beautiful trails at Muriel Lake M.D. Park throughout the winter months. This is the third season for the trails and staff are looking forward to providing the finest groomed trails in the Lakeland!
Once the cross country ski season has commenced, the trail conditions will be updated regularly on the M.D. website at www.md.bonnyville.ab.ca.
Muriel Lake M.D. Park is located 10 minutes southeast of Bonnyville. The Park has 7.8 km of groomed trails in a beautiful boreal forest setting. This season, staff will be grooming two routes throughout the park – the shorter loop is 5 km in length, with the longer loop measuring about 7.5 km.
