Major Area Structure Plans

Major Area Structure Plans (MASP) form a detailed framework for the subdivision and development of a specific area of land.

Future plans and procedures to deal with issues such as land use, environment, storm water management, and transportation and utility routes make up the bulk of these documents.

The Planning and Development Department is currently reviewing the Fort Kent Area Structure Plan for updates.

The M.D. of Bonnyville’s original intent for community engagement activities for the Fort Kent ASP was to have an open house within the community to discuss the Draft ASP. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the limitation on the size of public gatherings, engagement for this phase of the project will be done virtually to be compliant with Alberta Health Services guidelines and protect the health and safety of residents.

The purpose of this engagement activity is to get public feedback and comment on the Draft Fort Kent ASP policies. The draft policies within the ASP outline the future use of lands and development parameters for lands located with the Hamlet of Fort Kent.
