Clubroot Information

clubroot

Clubroot, a disease affecting canola production, has been present in the Municipal District of Bonnyville for the past seven years.

In that time, our Agricultural Services Department has implemented a canola field inspection program, which sees every field of canola in the municipality inspected for clubroot annually.

The M.D. has implemented a policy to guide producers when dealing with infected fields and crops once the presence of clubroot has been confirmed.

In 2022, Ag Services inspected 15 fields and no new clubroot infections were discovered. However, the inspection team did see an increase in Blackleg infection in the fields. The total confirmed Clubroot infected fields count sits at 13. Click here to view the 2021 Clubroot Risk Area Map.
