Intermunicipal Trails Master Plan

The M.D. of Bonnyville (M.D.) and the City of Cold Lake (City) are collaborating on an intermunicipal trails master plan that will help guide the development, enhancement and management of regional local trails for the next five -10 years.  

The plan will generate a clear understanding of what trail experiences we have, how well they are meeting our needs, what trail experiences we want in the future, and how we can make them happen.

What trails?

This plan will explore and consider trails throughout urban and rural areas across the region for both winter and summer recreation, leisure, tourism and active transportation purposes. Although focusing on M.D. and City trails, it will also contemplate trails on public land that could be considered for operation.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the project’s online survey and interactive mapping tools. The survey and map are now closed. Results are being compiled and analyzed to inform the development of the draft plan.
