This week we’re talking about the M.D.'s  Roadside Cleanup Program.

Spring is around the corner, meaning that the M.D. of Bonnyville Annual Roadside Cleanup Program will be taking place again soon. The program is open to non-profit groups anywhere within the M.D. boundaries and will run for six weeks, over seven weekends from April 24 to June 6 (weather dependent). As always, it is first come first serve for the dates.

Now that we’ve been navigating the world with COVID-19 for the past 12 months, we are confident we can put on the Roadside Cleanup Program safely and within the Government’s guidelines. Currently, the guidelines state groups of 10 people maximum for outdoor gatherings and a physical distance of two metres should be maintained. As many non-profit groups supply more than 10 volunteers for cleanups, we will be staggering start times in order to meet the guidelines.

Of note, the M.D. supports 20 to 25 non-profit groups annually through this worthwhile program and we get over 300 kilometres of busy M.D. roadways cleaned up and litter free.
