The M.D. of Bonnyville actively participates in the Alberta Rat Control program. Our Pest Control Officer is currently conducting inspections.
Properties in range one along the Saskatchewan border are inspected twice annually and bait is distributed to landowners. The Pest Control Officer's truck has an Alberta Rat Control sign on the rear door windows on both sides, with a flashing yellow beacon.
The Pest Control Officer will stop and talk with you to determine if you have any rat habitats — for example, outside livestock food sources, outdoor pet dishes and buildings that may attract rats. A notice will be placed on your door if you were not home.
