Fire permits
Fire permits are required from March 1 – Oct 31 of each year.
All fires must be extinguished prior to March 1, 2016.
Extinguished means “all debris must be spread out and extinguished, meaning cold to the touch”
Fire Guardians cannot issue a permit on any existing burn.
If you live or work in the Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 and wish to conduct any burning, including burning barrels and incinerators, you must first obtain a permit from a Fire Guardian or should you live in the Alberta Forest Protection Area, from your Agricultural and Forestry Office - 780-826-5608.
Acceptable fire pits, portable fire receptacles and fireplaces are not included and do not require a permit.
Acceptable fire pits and outdoor fireplaces are required to meet and be designed as per the Fire Services Bylaw (Bylaw No. 1522).
