M.D. launches free online business registry
March 22, 2021 — Do you have a company located in the Municipal District of Bonnyville? Would you like to enhance your online presence? The M.D. has launched an online Business Registry to help promote our local business community and to keep them informed of local business opportunities and programs.
Unlike most urban centres, the M.D. does not require a license for businesses to operate in the municipality. The new voluntary M.D. Business Registry will allow businesses to get more information from the M.D., receive updates on M.D. business opportunities and tenders, and be marketed online. In return, the M.D. will gain an understanding and appreciation for what local companies are offering in the region, and will allow for the regional economic development officer, Mark Laver, to keep in contact with local businesses and make sure they have access to the information and support they need to enhance and build their success in the community.
“This is an important initiative for the M.D. and our business community,” said Reeve Greg Sawchuk. “The Registry will allow us to provide more support and communications with businesses operating in the M.D. As an example, we could push out information on local, provincial and federal COVID-19 support programs, provide notice of business tenders with the M.D., and other relevant news from the Regional Economic Development program.”
The program is now open. Businesses signing up will be entered into a quarterly draw for a $100 gift certificate to a Bonnyville area restaurant. The first draw will be on June 30, 2021. Registration is free, and can be found online here.
