Ward 3
The Ward 3 eastern boundary is Thin Lake on the south side and north to the Sand River and Range Road 470 on the north side, stretching south and west to the St. Paul County boundary, and north to the Lac La Biche County boundary.

Personal Background
I was born in Bonnyville and raised on a farm northwest of the town. Presently, I reside on a farm in the Goodridge area, where I have lived for over 25 years. My wife, Linda, and I have been married for 35 years and have five children – two sons: Taras and Michael; and three daughters: Tanya, Tamara and Sonja. I have always had a love for the land, farming, and animals. This has given me an appreciation for the rural lifestyle and respect for agriculture and the environment.

Employment Background
In 1974, I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education Degree. I then began my teaching career at Glendon School with the Bonnyville School Division Number 46. After 33 years at Glendon School, I retired from the Northern Lights School Division Number 69 in June, 2007. On October 15, 2007 I was given the opportunity to serve as a councillor for Ward 3 in the Municipal District of Bonnyville and then acclaimed for a second term in 2010.

Reasons for Sitting on Council

To be a dedicated councillor for the people of the municipal district, to address their concerns, and to ensure that their concerns are taken care of as quickly as possible. We need to provide the best possible service to our ratepayers.

Term Goals & Priorities
My first priority is to be of service to the people – to listen to their concerns and issues and to deal with them accordingly as quickly as possible. We need to bring back the rural in the rural Municipal District of Bonnyville and to put more focus on the small local communities within each ward. There needs to be better communication with the people, and councillors need to be visible more often in the communities. Agricultural services need to be strongly supported. The municipal district needs to continue to have a greater focus on road improvements. We also need to address concerns of the seniors and safety of the municipal district parks. Finally, there needs to be an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation within council and all departments.
